If you run an online store in Pakistan, Google can send you free customers every single day. But most stores never get that traffic — not because SEO is hard, but because of a handful of SEO mistakes Pakistani online stores repeat over and over. The good news: every mistake on this list is fixable in an afternoon.
1. Copy-pasting supplier product descriptions
Thousands of Pakistani stores sell the same unstitched suits, LED lights, and kitchen gadgets. Almost all of them paste the exact same supplier description onto their product pages. Google sees hundreds of identical pages and ranks none of them.
Fix it by writing just 2–3 original lines per product in your own words. Mention the fabric, the size range, the actual color, and who it's for. Original text beats perfect text every time.
2. No written content on the homepage
Many store homepages are just a slider, a few product images, and a footer. That's a nearly empty page to Google. Add 150–200 words near the bottom of your homepage describing what you sell and who you serve — "handcrafted leather wallets delivered across Pakistan," for example. This one paragraph helps Google understand your whole store.
3. Ignoring image SEO
Pakistani sellers upload product photos named IMG_20260115.jpg with no alt text. Rename images descriptively before uploading — black-lawn-3piece-suit.jpg — and write a short alt text for each. Google Image Search drives real buyers, especially for fashion and home goods.
4. No Google Business Profile
Even online-only stores can claim a free Google Business Profile. When someone searches "clothing store near me" or your brand name, a verified profile with your WhatsApp number and delivery areas builds instant trust. It takes 15 minutes and costs nothing.
5. One page for every city, with identical text
A common shortcut: creating "Lahore," "Karachi," and "Islamabad" pages with the exact same paragraph copied three times. Google treats these as spam. If you target cities, write genuinely different content for each — mention your delivery time to that city, your courier partner there, or popular products in that market.
6. Slow, uncompressed hero images
Store owners love big beautiful banners, uploaded straight from the designer at 3–4 MB. On a customer's 4G connection, that one image delays everything. Compress every image under 200 KB before uploading (free tools like TinyPNG take seconds) and keep your homepage under 1.5 MB total.
7. No reviews or customer content on product pages
Google rewards pages that look alive and trustworthy. A product page with zero reviews looks dead. After each delivery, ask the customer on WhatsApp for a one-line review and a photo — then publish both on the product page. This builds rankings and conversions at the same time.
8. Never updating old content
A blog post or category page written once and forgotten slowly sinks. Every quarter, refresh your top pages: update prices, add new FAQs, fix broken links. Google notices fresh, maintained pages and rewards them with better positions.
Start with the highest-impact fix
You don't need to fix all 8 today. Start with original product descriptions and image compression — those two alone fix the SEO mistakes Pakistani online stores make most often, and both directly affect how fast your pages rank. SEO compounds: small fixes this month become free traffic next quarter.
